A Little About Me....

I am very happy to be starting my seventh year teaching 3rd Grade at Fairmont School. I hold a Bachelor Degree from Dominican University, and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from National-Louis University.

My husband and I are very proud  of our daughter, who is in her second year of graduate school  working on an advanced degree in Physics. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling to exciting places, snorkeling, and watching movies.

                          Reading Curriculum

In addition to supplemental materials we will using a reading comprehension program called Making Meaning. It encourages students to become critical thinkers of the texts they read. Students actively participate in conversations with partners and as a whole class to  summarize, analyze, and at times, debate what they have read. We are also using a sister program called Being a Writer to strengthen our writing skills.

Classroom Expectations:

Students are expected to follow the Fairmont Three Be's:

*Be Respectful

*Be Safe
