What's Happening in Class this Week? 09/06/10-09/10/10 Overall, we are working on a unit about animals. Animals will be the main focus in our reading stories and in science.
In reading the story will be Days With Frog and Toad The genre of the story is story. Stories focus on plot, setting, characters, and problems.Thee phonics pattern is changing the y to and I and adding ed. In math we are continuing to work on review of single digit addition and subtraction.
In science we are completing reptiles, amphibians, and fish in order to move on to the life cycle of animals. Specifically, frogs and cats. In social studies we are learning about landforms. Mountains, valleys, islands, and peninsulas. In writing we are continuing to add juicy details to our topics. The students will begin selecting their own topic and writing at least a paragraph about it. |
September Events: September 6th: No School Week of September 13th: School wide MAP testing Friday, September 17th: Progress Reports mailed home. Great Websites!

Homework Week of 09/06/10-09/10/10 Reading: Non-fiction comprehension story & practice book page 11(Tuesday), practice book page 27/28 (Wednesday), &practice book page 29/30 (Thursday). Math: Practice sheets 1-6-1-7additionalnd subtraction using objects around the house including dice, Cheerios, , coins, etc. (Tuesday -Thursday's homework). Science: Completion of vocab graph if not finished in class. Social Studies: None
Wring: Completion of clothing detail paragraph if not finished in class. Spelling: Practice weekly words by properly spelling and using in a correct sentence. Tests will be on Fridays (Study hard all week!). |
