What We're Reading: We started our Fourth novel: George's Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl George is home alone with his horrible old grunion Grandma. She needs something stronger than her usual medicine to cure her grouchiness. George knows just what to put in it! Ask your student what happens when George decides to 'cure' Grandma himself!

A Little About Me.... I am very happy to be starting my fifth year teaching 3rd Grade at Fairmont School. I hold a Bachelor Degree from Dominican University, and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from National-Louis University. My husband and I are very proud of our daughter, who is in her senior year at college. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling to exciting places, snorkeling, and watching movies. We all enjoy playing with our lab, Max! |
Websites for Reading Fairmont School has begun using a new Reading Comprehension Program called Making Meaning. It encourages students to become critical thinkers of the texts they read. Students actively participate in conversations with partners and as a whole class to summarize, analyze, and at times, debate what they have read. We are also using a sister program called Being a Writer to strengthen our writing skills. Look here for new websites to practice learned skills!

Classroom Expectations: Students are expected to follow the Fairmont Five.
